Penrith streets reopen after months of road closures through Penrith Town centre for Northern Gas Networks gas main replacement work that started on the 3rd of January.
The reinstatement works were completed on the final section along Kingstreet and Market place on Friday afternoon just after 4:30 with a final sweep of the road the barriers that have closed the towns roads came down but road closure signs remained in place until just before midnight on Friday.
