A66 Closed to High Sided and Vulnerable Vehicle.

The A66 is closed now to High Sided and vulnerable vehicles in both directions between the A1(M) Junction 53 and the M6 Junction 40 due to strong winds in the region.

As Storm Isha intensifies a planned closure for 7pm has been brough forward by National Highways and is now in effect.

For vehicles travelling across the Pennines please consider using the A69 or the M62. 

Vulnerable vehicles include motorcycles, caravans and any vehicle liable to be affected by cross winds.
