WestCoast Main Line Delays after Train hits Obstruction on Line South of Penrith

Update 13:00 Line now reopened but some delays to services.

Train services on the Westcost main line are at a standstill for both Transpennine Express and Avanti West Coast Northbound between Oxenholme Lake District and Penrith due to train hitting an obstruction on the line this morning.

Passengers with tickets to travel today will be accepted on the following services  the operators have announced.

London North Eastern Railway between London Kings Cross and Edinburgh in both directions until further notice.

Scot Rail between Glasgow Central and Edinburgh in both directions until further notice.

Cross Country between Birmingham New St and Edinburgh in both directions until further notice.

Transpennine Express Trains between Preston and Glasgow Central, as well as Preston and Edinburgh, in both directions until further notice.
