Slow Moving Abnormal Load Heading North Along M6 Today

A slow moving 375-tonne abnormal load will be heading North along the M6 today (Sunday 13th April). The operation to transport the 375 tonne transformer from Heysham to Harker Carlisle will got underway at 9am this morning at Heysham.

The slow moving vehicle with support vehicles is travelling from Heysham docks to Harker near Carlisle via M6 Northbound crossing into Scotland to switch onto the M6 southbound back to J44 and it’s destination at Harker.

The convoy will be moving slowly North up the M6 taking up lane one and two including through the roadworks and lane closures between J39 and J40 at Clifton.

Long delays around the convoy could occur as it travels North along the M6. National Highways have asked drivers to have Care and patience when overtaking in lane three.
