National Highways have announced that due to the Amber weather warning for heavy snow forecast in area overnight the A66 will be closed in both directions between A1M ScotchCorner and M6 Penrith from 22:30 tonight (Saturday 4th January)
The Met Office Amber Weather Warning is for heavy snow across Cumbria and the North throughout Sunday until Midnight with upto 40cm of snow on high ground expected.
